  1. There was a giant in Aughagower one time his name was Cloughannra. There is a stone in Aughagower and there was no one able to lift this stone but him. He went up the country then to a place called Sruagh and there used to be young lads throwing a half hundred weight. Cloughannra put his foot in the wring of the half-hundred and he fired it past all the lads. They wanted him then to fire it with his hand as he did and he fired it five times past them all.
