One time as St Patrick was coming from the reek he met a Pagan and the pagan had two hounds and he set them on St Patrick. St. Patrick made the sign of the cross and the hounds were swallowed in a big pit. Some of the people of the district have seen fairy lights at that place which is called Cluain da chon.

One night very late a man was going to see his cattle which were in a field in Luckaun which is a village about a quarter of a mile from the village of Aughagower in the County of Mayo. On his way he - horses galloping and he heard music and he saw lights. Other people of the village saw the lights there also and
