  1. There is one Round Tower in district It is in the graveyard beside the chapel in the village of Aughagower and parish of Aughagower. When the Danes came to Ireland the tower was built. It was the monkls and the priests that built it to protect themselves from the Danes when they came robbing and plundering the churches. There are three or four small windows and one door at the bottom and they had a small ladder to climb to the top for safety.
