- The Robin, The Starling, The Thrush, The Blackbird, The Seagull, The Wild Geese, The Swans, The Swallows, The Cuckoo, The Corncrake, The Crane.
The Wild Geese fly to the North when the weather is good and leave the North when the weather is getting bad. They lay their eggs in the reeds about twenty in number along the banks of the Shannon and the eggs take four weeks to hatch out.
The Cuckoo comes in the end of April when the air is clear. It is not a good sign if it comes too soon. It leaves early in July. Seldom seen in the open but heard from the woods and hills around. The Robin, thrush, wren,(continues on next page)
