    for spinning. First of all they used to wash the wool, then when it would be dry they would tease it and pick out the tar and dirt. Then they would put oil or butter on it
    Then they would card it and make rolls of it. When they would have it spun the women would keep some of the thread themselves for stockings and they would send the rest to the weaver. He would weave it into blankets and flannel. My mother has a wheel. She spins and makes stockings.
