  1. There was no hedge schools in Laughta but there was one in Derrymore and one in Tully. The teachers used teach indoors. There was a master named Gibbons and he used teach. They were not strangers. He was from Coillmór. Every farmers house that hadn't a barn they used teach in the houses. The teacher used lodge in the houses for a fortnight and when he would have gone as far as Derrymore he would return to Loughta again. The teaches used not speak Irish to the
