  1. There was an old man named McLoughlin who lived out in Leenane. He used to travel around from village to village, and the people nicknamed him Aifreach.
    He was a famous runner. He ran the Bianconi from a place called Gleann to Westport. That was a distance of fourteen miles. He never wore shoes.

    Aifreach was a famous lilter of reels, jigs and all sorts of Irish dances.
