  1. St. Patrick built a monument in Aughagower which is ten miles from here. There was a man called Corm Dub living in Aughagower at that time. When St. Patrick was building the monument he sent to Corm Dub for the loan of two horses for to draw stones. Crom Dub sent two goats instead of two horses. St Patrick put them to work and the drew as much stones as two horses. That is how Aughagower got
