  1. Cranath's tree in Killura Killavullen is situated about two miles north of the village of Killavullen. At one time there was a well under the tree but it removed to across a stream to the townland of Gurranechole. Locally it is believed that anyone who had to cross water will not be drowned if they have a piece of the tree with them and that its presence in a house preserves the house from fire. When this tree fell a bell was found in the top of it which belonged to the church which was built long ago on the site now occupied by Killura House.
