  1. There are many customs this district connected with some the big feasts for instance -
    On May Eve it is a custom shake holy water on the gardens that the fairies would not take crops.
    On St. John's night it is an old custom to light a bonfire on the side of the road and have a dance.
    Another old custom is that on Hallow E'en night to have a snap apple at it. Three saucers are left on the table with earth in one, a rosary beds in another and water in the third. Then the person is blindfolded and they put their hand into one of them. If he touches the water he shall be the first to cross water. If he touched the earth he should be first to die, and if he touched the beads he would be a priest or she would be a nun.
