  1. The old people believed that it would make the feet hard to go out in the morning in the dew and walk on the grass. Men used have very big feet and also women because they used not wear shoes.
    A man named Paddy Murphy never wore shoes and his feet became so hard that he could walk on thorns and take no notice of them. This man lived in Knockjames. There was a shoemaker in Quin long ago. His name was Tom Crowe, and he was father to the present shoemaker.
