  1. During the time when the Famine was raging all over Ireland the people were dying by thousands. When ever they saw a stump of raw cabbage they ate it. One man who was going around begging found a stump of cabbage and ate it. A bit of it stayed in his throat and choked him. He died soon afterwards.
