  1. In the Townland of Mohane just about a mile from here, was found a large quantity of gold. I am not certian as to the year, but ti was during the time of making the railway track. It was found by ordinary workmen, engaged at the work.
    They had no idea of its value, it being in the shape of oranments. They sold the gold to a man in Newmarket for a few shillings who made a large profit out of their findings.
