  1. Fairy Forts.
There are many fairy forts in this district.
There is a story told about a ford which is in the townland of Rooskey.
A man named Mr Simon Brady who was living convenient to it built a new barn and went to the fort and out scraws for to help to roof it. When it was finished his daughter took sick and was bedridden for six years.
Some person came to the house and advised him to remove the scraws from the barn and spread them again on the fort. The man did this and was immediately his daughter recovered from her illlness; and got married shortly afterwards.
