Peter Gibson was cousin of the famous Father Michael Meehan, was a light keeper and lit the first light in Loophead. Mrs. Naughton heard this sung about 1880 and remembered it as the óig-bhean was her aunt.

  2. About 1934 a young man of 35 in Moveen was coming home after visiting a neighbour's house when he was met by the ghost of his deceased father, who accompanied him to his home. There the father told him go into the cabin where the cow was about to calve. The young man couldn't bring the calf himself but his deceased father helped him and then went away.
