    Jamesy Magner of Tullaroe 72 years of age now was one of the best scorers in football in his day.
    Thomas Haugh who died in America was Captain of Doonaha Football team 40 years ago when they were champions of Clare. Another time they only lost the championship by 1 point.

  2. When road football ceased it was played in a field. Each man had his own square in the field and couldn't leave that but kick the ball if it came to him.
    The best field in West Clare for football was Quealy's in Lisheen and teams often came there from North Clare to play.
