    him about the spunk and he never had a pain after that. Spunk was made in the following manner. It was pulled three weeks and kept in a cool place and washed well. When it was down it was let boil for a few hours and when soft was taken up and sugar was put in it to sweeten it. It was then put into an air tight jar. When it was there for some time it was used by taking it after every meal.
