Lord Dunalley was one of the landlords. He was of English descent and his mother was one of the Pretty's. At the time when Cromwell was in Ireland they were down and out and it was he who gave them their high estates. He was a very bad and cruel man and it was an every day occourence for him to evict some of the poor tenants from their homes especially on the mountain side. If the people had the money they went across to America or Australia but thousands of them died on the roadside from starvation.
