  1. The doors of many forges are of arched shape but few are square. The fireplaces are on the flat of an iron table, but some are on hobs.
    The bellows are made of timber and leather. The timber is shaped like a heart, and in between the leather is. Bellows are not made locally, they are generally made in Dublin and Cork.
    The smith makes implements used for farming, such as ploughs and harrows.
    His life is very healthy as he often works in the open air. He puts the iron bands on wheels out of door. After shaping the wheels, he puts them in heap of sand, usually at the back of the forge.
