“There are many signs connected with the days of the year which are supposed to be true.”
People say it is unlucky to flit on a Saturday. There is an old proverb which says: "Saturday's flit is a short sit".
It is said when Friday is wet the following Sunday will also be wet.
It is also unlucky to eat meat on St. Stephen's Day. It is said if you keep it a day of abstinence you will never take the fever.
It is also said that "April comes like a lion and goes like a lamb".
