  1. A fair is held in Belturbet on the first Thursday of every month. The cattle fair is held on the fair green. The pig fair is held in Holborn Hill.
    People have to pay three pence per animal to have them taken into the enclosure.
    The owners of the pigs have to pay a shilling per cart to be allowed to put their cart along the street if they sell. Mr B. Farrelly The Lawn, Belturbet, lifts the money in Holborn Hill for the Belturbet Urban Council. There is a special fair on Ash Wednesday for the sale of horses.
