    In almost every town a fair is held once a month.

    In almost every town a fair is held once a month. The fair consists of cows, calves, horses, pigs and sheep.
    A fair is held in Belturbet on the first Thursday of every month.
    A fair is held in Ballyconnell on the eighteenth of every month.
    The cattle are sold on a place called the fair green. The pigs are sold on the street.
    When a beast is sold the purchaser marks it with a marking - pencil or with mud.
    When making a deal the buyer and seller slap one anther's hands.
    The seller usually gives some money back. This is called "luck penny"
