  1. Philip Carolan of Kingscourt, Co. Cavan, was coming home from Bailieboro' one night and at the foot of Collop's Hill, Kingscourt, Co. Cavan he heard music playing and stood to listen. The next place he found himself was in a dancing hall along with a crowd of the "weefolk". They were dancing. One of them cried out "Philip Carolan is to dance next". There was such fun and merry-making that he never found the night passing, and at the break of day he found himself in the same place, where he had stood to listen to the music.
