    Once upon a time when Fionn was out hunting he came upon a poor hut in which six old men were cowering over a tiny fire. These men had been friends of the death dead Cumhal and they were in hiding like Fionn.

    But hungry though they were, they thought first of the stranger and when they had the thrush cooked they served it on a platter to Fionn.
