  1. One night the house - maid told me a story concerning my district of Ballyjamesduff, and the following is the story.
One evening her mother went on a visit to a neighbour's house and when she was going she said it would be late when she would be coming home.
When night came the house - maid set out to meet her mother. After walking a long journey she at last reached the house in which her mother was.
She had to walk up a long lane to reach the house, but instead of doing this she said she would walk up and down the road until her mother would arrive.
After a while a man came round a bend in the road and the house - maid recognised him as the man who was killed in the neighbourhood a few weeks before.
