  1. There is an old fort near my home, it is a high mound in the form of a circle. It is surrounded on every side by whitethorn bushes, and I often heard it said, that if you got a scrape of those bushes you would die.
    There is a gap on one side of this fort, and it is said that the fairies can be seen there, in the middle of the night, long ago this fort used to be called the "dún."
    I heard my father say that long ago some person interfered with those fairies, and since then, if you were crossing this fort at night you would be led astray by the fairies.
