  1. I live in the district of Ballyjamesduff and my parish is Castlerahan. There are about forty families in the townland and about two hundred people. Brady is the most common name in the townland. Some of the people are over seventy but do not know Irish. They do not know any stories.
There are a lot of houses now in ruins. People emigrated from Ireland to America in former years. The town is mentioned in a song called "Come back Paddy Reilly to Ballyjamesduff." The land is fairly good. There are no woods growing there.
