  1. The townland I live in is Aughalion parish of Castlerahan and barony of Castlerahan.
    There are thirteen families in the townland, and the name most common is Brady. There are six slated houses and six thatched. Long ago there were far more houses in it than there are at present. The most of the houses fell but the ruins are to be seen to the present day.
    As far as I know there is no person over seventy in the townland
    Someone out of every family nearly, went to America long ago. Most of them are there yet except those who dies in it, but a few came home.
    The land is hilly and fairly good. There are three steams or rivers running through it into Lough Ramor.
    There are bridges built on each of them
    Long ago part of Aughalion was called Lurgan Lost, because it
