    In Ireland long ago, al the townlands, rivers, lakes and even fields had Irish names, until the English conquered Ireland then most of them changed. My father gave a list of town lands and their meanings.
    Aughawee. The yellow Ford.
    Athadreena. The land of rocks.
    Lackanmore. The flat side of a hill.
    Pullafree. The hole of the heather.
    Ardkill. The high church.
    Cornagrove. The cup chapel of a hill of the nuts.
    Faragh. A watching place.
    Lismeen. The fort of the riches.
    Lisaderg. The red fort.
    Drumloman. The bare back
