  1. My great grandfather, Jonnie O'reilly of the New Inn remembered well the black 46. He remembered them to have a big boiler at the cross-road, they used to make the full of it every day of Indian porridge. The people of the district, would come and get some of it to eat. He remembered there was a hospital this side of Ballyjames duff, where Mrs Mac Kanney lives at present, and there was a graveyard between Mr Patrick Brady's, and the present graveyard and there used to go five or six funerals from the hospital each day, and they would all be buried in the one grave.
