  1. (continued from previous page)
Five thousand strong we marched along our bands played "Tenant Rights"
    5.
We showed a firm resistance and determination wild
Headed by our pastor the reverend Father Coyle.
For three long days we marched away with vengeance in our eyes
To protest against evictions and cursed tyranny
    6.
They carried out death sentence on a hundred souls or more
The widow and orphan cried when flung outside the door
Saying Lord of High, That rules the sky oh; what are we to do
Or does this earth you made belong to a cursed tyrant few
    7.
They charged our noble people twice with swords of gleaming steel
Although we were unarmed not a single man did yield.
They thought we were English blood that we would quickly run away
But if we had our pikes that day
We would show them Irish play.
    8.
Three cheers for noble Father Coyle who would long to set us free
His name shall be inserted on future history
Three cheers for brave O'Dolan his heart is in the cause.
He is a noble patriot that hates the English law
    9.
But what of cursed Whiteside he did his duty well.
He would send us Papists every one to Connaught or to hell
Tournsly, Vance and Carrigan and all the dirty clan
Will ponder well before they come again to visit Glan.
