  1. There are five people in this district that have forges, Mr Kellys, Mr Dorsey's Stephen Mulvey's, Mr Hanlons, and Mr Roche. Their people have been smiths, Mr Kelly's people have been smiths for centuries. The forges are on the roadside and three or four of them are near a stream.
The forges has a slate roof. One is in the shape of a horse shoe. There is only one fireplace in the forges. The bellows are made of leather and wood and are three cornered with a short wooden handle.
The smith uses a sledge, a pincers, file, hammer, clogs, dogs, tongs, shoe-tongs or stirrup driver.
    He shoes horses and asses.
