  1. The people a long time ago did not wear boots or shoes until they were seventeen years of age. There are still accounts of people who never wore boots or shoes.
    There are two shoemakers in this district. Shoes and boots are still repaired in this district.
    Clogs are still worn in this district, and are still made in this district. There was leather made in Croney Byrne a long time ago. Some people still make their own boots.
    It is an old custom in some places to put a cruel coal in the fire after washing your feet before throwing the water out.
