  1. The people ate three meals a day in this district in olden times, their breakfast, dinner and supper.
    For breakfast they had oaten meal porridge and milk. For dinner they had buttermilk and poraroes. For supper they had milk and brown bread and sometimes stirabout.
    The farmers used to go out to work for three hours every morning before their breakfast.
    When tea came into the district, the people threw away the water when they had boiled it, and put butter on the tea leaves and eat them.
