There is a holy well in this district known as St Patrick's well. It is situated in the middle of a field of Mrs Connellans. The field is called Patrick's field because St Patrick was supposed to have blessed the well. The well is used for curing pains. People have to round the well five times and eat some of the grass to get cured. There is a story told of a woman who took a kettle of water out of this well and the water never boiled. She never had good luck
