  2. Benekerry is the name of the district where I live. There are twenty-two houses in it presently. There are four farmers' houses, and the remainder are labourers' cottages. The population is about one hundred. There are two sisters, Mrs Tobin and Mrs. Hickey over seventy years of age, and a man named Michael Sullivan, over eighty years. Mrs. Tobin can remember lots of things that happened long ago, and tells some good old stories. Years ago there were the houses in the district were more numerous than now, and the population was double
