    About 50 years ago coach building was a thriving industry in Borris. First, Pat Millet and then his son, Mike carried on the trade. Their lovely inside traps often won great praise at the Dublin show.
    The late Luke Kelly, Borris was a great mason. The trade had been in the family for generations and many a fine piece of stonework owes its existence to the Kellys who were stone-cutters as well as masons.
    Old Mrs. P. Lennon, Ballyroughan cultivated flax in her own little gardens, scutched and spun it and then wove it into line for shirts for the family.
    The Kilcloney mill spinning and weaving were carried on and three generations of Kealys did a prosperous trade. Since 1920 also the big wheel is at rest.
    Lace-making is still a Cottage industry in Borris. About 20 women and girls are employed
