There was a barrack on the mountain not many years ago.

There was a barrack on the mountain not many years ago. The Cantlons, the Abbeys and the hills lived on this mountain. Doyne put them there, he was Mr Kavanagh's agent. He put the people there to take possession of the white mountain. The people of the country and Dan O'Connell put the Cantlon's and the other famlies out. There was an old man named Jones from Ballinlug he was 80 years of age. And Kavanagh and Doynes would give him a large sum of money to stop at home and not to go prove that the white mountain was always free. They got until nine o'clock to clear out. There did many people go to see it being knocked down.
