    There is an old saying...

There is an old saying if you walk under an alder tree you would not grow any bigger. There is an old saying if you want to cure a wart, get a snail and rub in on the wart, then stick the snail to a skeough thorn, when the snail will wither the wart will wither. If you strike a person with an alder stick, the person would not grow another inch.
