There is a pool with a little river flowing out of it, coming down through Ballyling. It rises out of a spring well in Marley It flows by Christy Doyles' and into our bog. Then it flows to the three bridges, and from that to the river Barrow. Ballyling means the town of the pool, and this is how Ballyling got its name. Cattle and horses get water from this pool in the warm weather.
