  1. When tea was less common than now & potatoes the staple diet, a good woman, eager to show off before her neighbours in the adjoining house, called in her husband from the garden "to his tea". Being rather engrossed in his task he didn't come tho' called again & again. Finally anger conquered pride & the irate housekeeper shouted "If you dont come in to your tea this time, I'll break it up to the ass"!
This story is generally known in this district & I often hear people say "Come in to your tea or _____"
