  1. A Holy Well
    Notes from Mr. William Morrissey
age 55 of Newtown who lives beside the well.
There is a holy well on the land owned by Mr. Jas Kehoe (formerly Mr. Mojue Briens) in the townland of Newtown, Kilmuckridge.
The well is dedicated to St. Anne and there was a church too in the vicinity also called St. Anne's.
There is now no trace of this ancient church. The holy well is situated in the "Spring field" about half a mile from the K'ridge - Enniscorthy road. There is no a account at present of the water being used for cures.
There is also a graveyard in the vicinity / used it is said for the burial of dead born babies.
Transcribed by a member of our volunteer transcription project.
