    would be baked so the men would do so. The next Sunday was called "Puss Sunday" because the girls were vexed because they could not get married until Lent was over.
    The "Runaway Marriages" always took place around this time. When a boy and a girl intended to get married and their fathers and mothers did not wish them to marry, the boy brought the girl to a friend's house and she stopped there for three weeks. Then the were married. The best man and a married woman would go to take her home.
