  2. Some time ago there lived in what is now the stable at John Hersons Gaigue Hill, a family named Sheridan. The father was in America and there was nobody at home but the mother and one son. Young Sheridan was a fine flute player and was in great demand at the dances and wakes and other gatherings. One night when he arrived home he saw two parties of people on the street. One party tried to take him away with them but the other party seized him and fighting their way with him to the door they opened it and pushed him inside.
