car. When they come home they have a big dance. They have a half barrell of stout at it. At midnight straw boys come and they dance too and get plenty of porter. After a month the bride spends two whole days in her father's house. Then she goes back to her husband and never leaves him again.

Long ago a lot of people used to get married in the evening but the church condemned this practise. Now every one goes to the church. Then they used to go to the church on horseback and ride home together. They would throw an old boot after the bride. It is lucky for a bride to cry on her wedding day. If the sun is shining she will be very happy. She should always wear blue, " something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue". It is not lucky for her future husband to see her in her wedding clothes until they meet at the altar.
