    Salt. The spilling of salt is the sign of quarrels. A pinch should be thrown over year left shoulder to avoid the evil.
    Mirror. If you break a mirror it signifies seven years back.
    New Moon. At first sight of a new moon turn over your money and wish but do not look at it through a window.
    Knife. Should a knife fall on the floor a man will visit the house. To accept a knife as a gift you will cut (f) your friendship with the giver.
    Crickets. These should never be disturbed as they foretell money coming to the house they inhabit.
