  1. There are some very old people in this parish or the next parish ; such as
Thomas Slevin is 90 years old
He is very well and walks as straight as any young man.
He has all his faculties and is bright and cheerful. He lives in Hodgestown.
Mr Cassidy of Hydepark must be older. He is very strong and active and sometimes walks three and a half miles to Mass though he usually drives in a pony trap.
He is deaf, but his deafness is from the noise of an engine, as he spent his life as an engine driver.
An old lady named Mrs. Briscoe of Riverdale lived to one hundred and one years.
