  1. Lough Deel was frozen over about 33 years ago in March. It was covered with ice for 6 weeks.
    There was a great thunderstorm in 1914 on the 15th August. A lot of cattle & horses in the district lost their lives.
    In 1903 there was a very big wind. many trees were knocked. In February 1933 there was a great snowstorm. In places the snow was six feet on the ground, all traffic was suspended for fortnight & the schools were closed. A lot of sheep & lambs died.
