    fodder and mashes in the Winter. Sometimes crack oat is given and turnips and Indian meal mixed with it. When the hay is scarce we give them straw.
    The sucking calves are fed on milk, buttermilk and linseed meal. Sometimes raw potatoes are grated and boiling water is poured on them and the drink given to calves. They are fed three times a day.
