Oh! may we live to see the day
    That he returns once more,
And live in peace amongst us
    As he has done before.
    It's then we'll flock together
    And give a mighty cheer
And kneel down and ask the blessing
    Of our Saintly Volunteer.

So, all young men of Gráinseach Gaoith
    And from Rathkenny too,
    Just follow the example
That he has set for you,
    Regardless of the German's threat
    Or their Kaiser's haughty sneer,
We are sure to win, blessed by such men,
    As our Saintly Volunteer.
